This week I used voicethread, a very interesting and handy
tool for communicating ideas. We were to add 3 comments to the slide show provided
and share with our peers on the topic of digital communication. I found this
site interesting because it reminds me of a podcast but a lot shorter and gives
many different ways to share. I personally used text for all my comments (because
I like to do this class in my PJ’s and I’m sick so I can’t add an audio
comment), in the future however, I would really like to try out some of the
other commenting forms like the audio and video. The introductory video I
watched about this tool mentioned that it is hard to convey full meaning over
text. A statement I 100% agree with. That’s what makes this tool so handy, we
have a chance to express ourselves indifferent ways.
I would add this tool to my PLE under professional. I can
see myself using this in my classrooms as a way for my students to learn and
share information. This may also be
useful when I take notes. I have a horrible habit of writing or typing notes
then when I go back to them I have no idea what they mean. If I can add speech
or video to my notes I think that would make me more efficient in my learning.
I recommend that people at least take a look at voicethread it could end up
helping you out in the future.
